What is Permanent Cosmetic Makeup?

Permanent makeup is a cosmetic technique which employs tattoos (permanent pigmentation of the dermis) as a means of producing designs that resemble makeup, such as eyelining and other permanent enhancing colors to the skin of the face,  lips, and eyelids. It is also used to produce artificial eyebrows, particularly in people who have lost them as a consequence of old age, disease, such as alopecia, chemotherapy, or a genetic disturbance, and to disguise scars and white spots in the skin such as in vitiligo. It is also used to restore or enhance the breast's areola, such as after breast surgery.

Cosmetic tattooing is a revolutionary procedure of applying micro insertions of natural pigments to the dermal layer of the skin. Permanent makeup in Kansas City has been around for a long time and is becoming increasingly popular. Pigments used are hypo-allergenic and can be used to create a natural look, or if desired, a more dramatic look with richer colors. The pigments are MRI-safe and fade resistant.

Look great after swimming or sports; WAKE UP WITH MAKE-UP! Roll out of bed every morning looking your best. Permanent cosmetics let you look your best always, even when you have no time to fuss over your appearance. After an cosmetic tattooing with natural, hypo-allergenic pigments, you'll have a look that's strikingly beautiful and bold, yet also natural.

Micro pigmentation is a gentle technique with a makeup tattoo machine that inserts color into the skin with very little trauma to the tissues. Micro pigmentation certification is always maintained and we are strictly dedicated to the highest standards of patient welfare, implement sterilization, and procedure excellence.

99 percent of everyone goes to work the next day with no down time. Areas may be sensitive to the touch and color appears 20 percent darker than desired color for 5 to 10 days depending on procedure.

What Permanent Makeup Services can I get?

Permanent Eyebrows gives you a natural, put-together look by filling in the sparseness of your existing eyebrows and alleviating the need to draw on your eyebrows every day. Beautiful eyes deserve beautiful brows and your permanent eyebrows can be sculpted any way you choose to define your best attributes. You can get a full brow look or hairline strokes: MICROBLADING. Both look very natural . Healing process for eyebrows is 7 days.

Permanent Eyeliner opens up and defines the eyes for a more beautiful appearance. You can have procedures for the top only, the bottom only, both top and bottom, and/or the mucosa tissue. You will never need to worry about smudges, fading or shaky lines again. Permanent eyeliner adds symmetry  to the shape of the eyes, can enhance or intensify eye color and  so give you a more refreshed and polished look. Most procedures are natural and duplicate more of a daytime look. A heavier night time look can be achieved by using a temporary eyeliner pencil. If your desire is to have a permanent heavier (night-time) eyeliner the top eyeliner can be thicker with a bit of a swoosh at the outside corner.  Eyelash enhancement is a subtle, natural look that can be created, mimicking thousands of tiny eyelashes, which is popular with men and women. Colors can be black, brown, blue, green, purple...on and on. Eyeliner heals in 5 days. It usually looks like you have been crying for 24 hours or so, unless you want an extra thick line on top then you can expect 48 hours of slight swelling.

Permanent Lip Liner and Full Lip You may choose to line your lips to give definition to your mouth with a natural color or you may decide to do a full lip with a distinct color change by lining and filling in the lips up to the area that touches when you close your mouth (fading into to inside of the lips). This can be done with all one color or use a slightly darker color for the outside as a liner. You may prefer to have the full lip all one color. You can also make your lips appear fuller than normal. See before and after pictures for color and be prepared to have a heavier look for the first 10 days.

Camouflaging Mask any imperfections you might have such as scars, birthmarks or uneven coloring. Also add artificial strokes of hair in side-burn areas, bald spots etc.

Color Correction, Beauty marks, Cleft Palate, Concealer, Areola's after breast mastectomies and reconstruction procedures are done as well.

Can I change the color?

You could notice a slight variation of color as the skin can be affected by body temperature and circulation. Your color will not change once healing has occurred but if you ever decide to change it you can apply makeup over the top. For example, to wear a different color lipstick or makeup liner just apply right over the top with no problem. If you decide to change the color permanently schedule a touch up procedure and a different color can be implanted.

Does it hurt?

Because of the nature of the permanent cosmetics procedure, some patients may experience some discomfort according to their individual pain tolerance. Your treatment area will be numbed with two different topical anesthetic ointments before and during your procedure. Please let us know if the pain level goes above a 2.  After the procedure feel free to apply ice in a clean zip lock bag to area to reduce swelling which may last 24-48 hours. The original healing process is approximately 10 days during which the area may be sensitive to the touch. You should experience itching between day 3 and 10. Eyeliner procedures can sometimes produce slight redness and bruising to the surrounding area. Some of the before and after pictures have this for you to see.

How long does the procedure take?

Services take between two and three hours from the initial consultation to finalizing the procedure. Touch up procedures are usually on hour to an hour and half.

What is involved in recovery?

Most people resume daily activities immediately. It is normal to experience slight swelling and redness, but these symptoms subside usually within 24-48 hours. Within one week to 10 days most of your healing at a point in which the full results of your treatment will be visible. (Until then the color is much more intense) Micro pigmentation certification is always maintained and we are strictly dedicated to the highest standards of patient welfare, implement sterilization, and procedure excellence.

Is it really permanent?

Permanent cosmetics procedures are considered permanent because the color is implanted into the upper dermal layer of the skin and cannot be washed off. As with any tattoo, fading can occur, requiring periodic maintenance, color re-enhancement or color re-freshing. Permanent lips, eyebrows and eyeliner lasts about 2-8 years before fading to the point where you will want to get a touch up.  The time difference will depend much on the color you choose, how well you protect it in the sun. I recommend getting your touch up procedure within the allotted time frame (1 -3 months) when needed to ensure long lasting color.
